Every local in Glen Rose, Texas, knows that the Paluxy River tracks were made by dinosaurs on a mission. But according to local legend, there was one particular T-Rex—the one on our label—who wasn't interested in the hunt. While his cousins were roaring across the Cretaceous plains, he was looking for a spot to take a long, peaceful nap under a Texas live oak.

From the Andes to the Brazos Valley

He was a "Gentle Giant" with a sophisticated palate. Legend has it, he once caught the scent of something magical drifting on the trade winds all the way from the Peruvian Andes. It was the aroma of organic coffee cherries, but there was a catch: our T-Rex friend had a sensitive soul (and a sensitive stomach). He wanted all the bold, dark-roasted flavor of the mountains without the prehistoric "jitters."

The "Swiss Water" Secret

As the story goes, he discovered a crystal-clear spring tucked away near what is now Dinosaur Valley State Park. The water was so pure and soft that it naturally washed away the "wildness" of the beans while keeping their dark, chocolatey soul intact.

Today, we honor that sleepy legend with our Dinosaur Decaf. Using the chemical-free Swiss Water® Process, we’ve removed the caffeine but kept the "ROAR."
